Airbag Cover Replacement
Airbag Cover Replacement
I have acquired a new airbag cover and casing. I am looking for any instructions on how to remove the old one or is it simply unbolting it and unlugging the airbag? Also if I turn the passenger airbag key to the off position will this save me from having it go off in my face?
You're supposed to disconnect the batteries then wait 15 minutes before working on the airbags.
These instructions for replacing the clockspring include what it takes to do the airbag> http://dodgeram.info/tsb/recalls/982.htm

Thanks Infidel, That is kinda what I was thinking I would need to do just wanted to check. You wouldnt know if I can find matching paint in a spray can at any local parts stores or is this something that I will have to go through the dealer for.
I bought touch up paint from the dealer using the paint code under the front of my hood.
I didn't feel it matched up good at all, experiment first in a hidden place.
When I bought the topper (shell) with a matched color for my truck it came out perfect as did the touch up paint they included.
I use the topper paint now, the dealer's paint went in the trash.

My dealer touch up paint isn't evn close, my truck is arctic white and the touch up says arctic white but is a yellowish cream color. It looks white til it dries.
But I think he wants the interior paint color. Genos has it or you can order it thru Napa.
