For a long time I have been searching for a truck and I finally have a what I hope to be a good prospect but I would like to ask the experts on this great forum for their opinion.
Its a 2000 2500 extended slt short box with 190,000 miles. The body is very good with minor scratches on the top of the bed. The interior is almost show room with no rips cracks or bad odors.
When I test drove it, it handled well no wander or pull even during breaking.
Two things seemed a little weird to me, when I put it in 4L and turned sharply it bucked once and the dealer said to straighten out and "let it engage" and that it was "normal" . While it was in 4L making sharp turns it would kind of wobble threw the turn and this is also apparently "normal".?
When I performed the on/off key trick I got a 1693 and that was all.
Tomorrow it's going to the diesel mechanic where I get my company ecnoline fixed for a inspection, while its there I will make sure the LP pressure is checked out (min 15psi a little less WOT if I am not mistaken) While its on the lift I will also check the block for the dreaded 53 if it has one and the casting is smooth and in good condition is should still be ok... after all it already has 190mi on it?
The one last thing is that its a American truck from Boston even though its on a lot in Laval Quebec Canada, don't get me wrong I like American trucks but I just want to be sure I don't wind up with NewOrliens swamp buggy that have been known to find their way north.
I would appreciate any in put you guys might have as this is going to cost me 20K$ Can.

My truck in 4 wheel drive while turning does it some to on dry roads.
You need to get the code 1693 which is telling you another code has been stored checked out at a dealer and then go from there.
