99 24v slt laramie 4x4

I am looking to buy a late model 24v 99 model tomorrow. It is completely stock and has 187,000 miles and is a 1 owner truck. The only thing that scares me is that it still has the original lift pump and original injection pump. Is this a ticking time bomb or are they known to run high milage like that. I just sold my 03 so I dont know much about these trucks. Is this a barganing tool to get the price down a little lower? Ball park figure, what is it worth? No rust, body looks good, like new interior. Thanks

Anybody? I know you cant really guess about the value without seeing it, but with the milage, is the lift pump and injection pump probably past its days of being dependable? Also, are the 99 models injection pumps called a vp44? I think I can get the truck for between 7500 and 8500.
Thank you

I can't answer all your questions, because I don't have experience with the 24 valves. But, from reading on this forum, it appears that many have had their VP-44's fail at lower mileage, and others are well past 187,000 miles on the original equipment. No one can predict what life is left in the one you are looking at. If it were me, I would expect to replace the lift and injection pump soon, take that cost into account, and then decide if that price is worth it. For the year and mileage, it seems to me, guaging by my region and prices, that $7500 would be a fair price to pay, considering what you will need to spend on it. $8500 seems a little high. That is my opinion, and again, I am not much of an expert.

I would say yes...sounds like a good deal....quad cab? Ask about the tranny, check all fluids and other normal maint items. Just factor the LP and IP into your price as needing replacement and go from there.
