warning bell

Hello chaps...can anyone tell me a quick easy way to disable the dash warning bell/dinger/irritating nagging pseudo wife??? thx...vs

On mine it is a blue box tucked up under the dash just to the left of the steering shaft. Took it apart and removed the small metal disc inside. No disk,, no bell.

on my 01 for the key in door open beep it was a 2 wire plug on the ignition switch when you pulled toe column off but lights on key out still beeps when you opened the door

thx for the responses guys...actually i am looking to completely eliminate the chimes...can anyone confirm that it is the same module as carljensen describes only on a 98.5 truck??? the only service manual i have is for my 97 that my son inherited...it appears changes were made to the electronics in 98.5...thx...vs

I've disabled '97s the way Carl describes.
Very easy to do the module just pops open and you remove a quarter sized disc inside.
Another option is to remove the steering column cover, two or three torx screws from the bottom, and unplug the two wire connector from the the key switch.
