1998 was the first year and there are 12V #53's and 24V #53's

Just finished crawling around the nether region of the 2500.

NO 53 on right side...

On the left side I saw a DIAL indicator marking date?

A series of 1/4 inch tall numbers and directly beneath those a single "5" digit.

Could this be correct?

Does this mean I avoided the ISB 53 block?

Truck was manufactured 11/97 in St. Louis..

THANKS

Yep, though I have never heard of a problem with a 12V 53.

On second thought, I think there was one here, but not like the 24V guys.

If you have a series of small numbers, you may have a Mexican block.

That is what I saw. And one digit under that group about 1 inch tall--

just a single "5"

I had read the 24V had problems then someone said that a few 1998 12V might be included and I was nervous.
