I did my share of cold weather knuckle-bustin'......
I'll just keep the tank topped off... warmer weather is just around the corner.

For you guys that rebuilt/replaced the sending units, the factory service manual also says that you need to replace the ring and seal at the top of the sending unit that holds it to the tank. Did you replace those too or just re-use the old ones?

first time I did not replace the ring and it leaked, second time (first time I replaced the sending unit, 2nd time I rebuilt it) I replaced the gasket but not the locking ring, no leaks using fuel as lube on the sealing ring.

I keep a new one of each on hand because I do so many replacements but have only had to use one ring in the last ten years because the old one cracked.
No leaks otherwise.
