will this edge chip work in my truck

i just recently bought a 1999 dodge 3500. a buddy of mine gave me a edge ecd 2000b, on the back it says it is for a 2002. i am pretty sure his old truck was a 2000 and he had it on their. i was just wandering if this chip would work on my truck

Thanks, Baker

I dont THINK it will. I believe its a different wiring harness, and it may have to be reflashed to work correctly..

well thanks for the response, looks like i am going to have to buy a new chip or do some trading around with someone. if anyone has a 2002 and needs a edge drag comp box let me know maybe we can do some trading for something that will work for my 99

If it worked on his 2000, will work on your 1999.
Difference is in the MAP sensor plugs, I believe.
If it will hook up (plug in), it should work.
There are adaptors for earlier models to later model trucks. Maybe they have the reverse as well??

Get the model number, call edge, or look at their website. They have great customer service.

That programmer is worth what someone will pay for it. If he is your friend, be good to him. If not, low ball it.

With the 24's, (If it is a VP) you're probably going to want to tap your pump to get good power. If you do this, I would suggest that you get an aftermarket LP and closely monitor your fuel pressure. Those VP44's are known for failing if you starve them.

I have helped 1999blackcloud with his 99, talk to him if you have questions.

Good luck!
