I have questioned BD about my temps going to 900 and 1100 degrees. they say my backpressure is set to high ???. I am set in the middle of the specs the give. Please let me know. Thanks Kelly
[/quote]

Well, mine is hooked into the ATS TripleLok Commander, so the brake is off at idle, unless I turn the controller off. With the brake off, I idle at 300 deg, with it on, I idle at about 450-500 deg.

Re:Why are exhaust brakes loud?
Is an exhaust brake and a jake brake the same thing or is the jake brake an engine retarder? My friends and I were discussing this and I was telling them that that loud noise they love and all is actually an engine retarder and not an exhaust brake. They said it was a jake brake. I need some help yall.

Thanks Jack,
I'm not knowledgable on the ATS commander. I know it has to have an unlock speed, and what is it? I am going to rewire my BD torque loc to turn my e-brake off at idle, or at unlock speed also. Sorry to here about your pump. mine just went out also last week. Been expecting it also, at 141000 miles. :'( The new map sensor Dodge put in when the engine was changed put my TST comp box in a new operating parameter when I reconnected my TST back up ;D. I got 1.2 miles after hooked up >. Thanks again, Kelly
