Who's VP died from fuel box?? died stock??

So far, the fuel boxes aren't the root cause of VP failure. Interesting!!!!

My dad has had three new Vps put on his truck in less then 100K, One new lift pump, he just went over 100K so lets hope it lasts, his truck is stock as far a fueling mods go, Vps are absolute JUNK!!!!

My VP died @40K-- no wire tap, perfect FP the whole time.

I know why the VP's seem to be doing better with a wire than without. It's because dodge is to restrictive on them and they don't like that so they die. They like being used to their full advantage. They like flowing high volumes of fuel and advancing the timing. It makes them feel useful. With the stock dodge programming, they feel unadequate and unused so they commit suicide. At least that's what I keep telling myself.

I have replaced three vps in the same truck

1. @101,000 just my luck---- completely stock
2. @135,000 cummins reman "with all the new upgraded parts"
3. @166,000 NEW CUMMINS upgraded VP44 with pm3
4. 181.00 ebay special still in there till i get a cam and injector lines for p-pump conv.

it took a good 40k miles before ours fried. its gonna go one way or another so ya may as well just tap the wire. keep a CAREFUL eye on fuel pressure because thats what really kills them (when the fuel pressure really dips down and starves the IP)
