Whistle while accelerating..boot leak?

I haven't been driving my truck a while. In the mean time, I installed my FASS and replaced the front shocks and track bar. Today I go to help my sister move and I hear a whistle coming from up front when I accelerate. It seems to mirror the turbo whine but it sounds like someone is blowing on a kids wooded train whistle. The sound amplifies if I get on her a little and goes away during cruise and idle. If I get on it while cruising highway speed it will come back 'till I let off. I'm thinking I have a hole or crack in one of my intake boots.
Is there a good wat to pressure test the system from the turbo to the horn? I have a compressor and all the rigamarole I should need. I was tinking of plugging it at the horn end and pumping air through a plug in the other the monitoring the drop on a guage of some sort. Any ideas?

Tonight i noticed i have the same problem. it is coming from the left side. almost sounds like it could be my boost gauge i i have a hard time believing it is. im going to check my boots tomorrow.

I thought the same and the guy I had in the passenger seat seems like it was coming from some towards the middle.
I waited until dark then went around all my boots with a white light and a mirror and I didn't see antything obvious.

i did just move my boost gauge supply this past week to off of a port on my intake horn. I am pretty sure that it is nice and tight tho. For me it would not make any sense for the whistle to come from the middle of the truck.

If you want to test all the boots, you can fit a large rubber fitting to the front of the turbo once the air filter tube is gone. I used some toilet adapter part, with a pvc cap that I put a bike tube valve in, filled it up with a little air and was able to clearly hear my leak and find it.

Any chance you removed the stock fuel filter housing when you did an fass or airdog? That may very well be the culprit if you did. Put the bolts for the fuel filter housing back in with a spacer and check your gasket didn't get too mangled.

Yup, sure did.. And now I'll bet those two bolts go into the intake manifold. I think I'll take the canister off and re-install the upper section.
If it works, Ill let ya know so searchers will have a good thread to read.. Thanx

I used a couple of galvanized washers for each bolt to make up for the thickness of the stock fuel filter housing. A solid piece of steel would probably be better, but the washers seem to work ok. Good luck.

same thing here lol. i put the bolts back in but they cant run all the way down. put two stainless washers with a healthy dose of thread sealant on each bolt and ran them down nice and tight. didnt get on it too much tonight because it is cold but i hit 10 psi a couple times and didnt hear anything.

I put the top of the assembly back on the manifold and screwed it down with just a bit of red lock tite. No more noise and plenty of power. Thanks for the tip...
