Whirring - Roaring in LEFT turn

Truck symptoms:
While driving at normal speed, whenever the road curves to the LEFT, I hear a low-whirring noise. Noise is similar to sound of a knobby-tire on the highway....I don't have knobby tires.
Steering is fine/normal...no pulling or drifting.
No tire rubbing (stock tires).
No visible places where I can obviously see rubbing.

My assumptions:
front-left wheel bearing (hub assembly) going bad.
if not, then something else up front is wrong
I "feel" the noise in my feet -- not my seat...

COMMENT: I replaced the drive-shaft U-joints about 2yrs ago. Could the U-joints be making that noise--only in a LEFT-hand turn? Tires are good condition; not new, but good tread. RECENTLY made a long trip (600 miles) pulling a trailer of cargo (not overloaded).

Took it to a decent mechanic (previous good work). I bought 2x front wheel-hub assemblies in anticipation that was the problem. Mechanic called and said my existing wheel-hubs check out just fine...no need to replace them. BUT, he was unable to replicate the noise I describe ((must be one of those situations where the problem only appears when I am driving and nobody else... )

QUESTION: What else could be causing the noise? Perhaps it is not related to front steering... ?

Sounds like you have already checked everything I was thinking...

Is your wheel well liner intact? How about your control arm bushings?

Thanks. Turns out the mechanic was attempting to diagnose by listening for a grinding noise when turning the wheel to left (like turning left out of the driveway). The shop owner came in while I there (I was going pick up the truck and go elsewhere)...owner was completely familiar with the symptoms I described and sent the truck into the repair bay to change the wheel hubs.

Hopefully we're all correct...

Thanks for the reply. d

wheel bearing nut backs off on the drivers side due to wheel rotation and the locking nut not locking (it happened to me) replace nut and tighten to specs and it should be ok.........

Sounds like a wheel bearing to me.
