where is my drain plug???
where is my drain plug???
I would like to change the fluid in my 6 sp. nv5600 but I can't find the drain plug. I see 2 pto covers and the big nasty looking allen headed plug half way up which is where you fill it at I assume, but no drain plug. Also I just changed my rear diff oil. 4 qts. is what I put in and the level is 1/2" below the drain plug is that allright?

jason

Re:where is my drain plug???
That big "allen head thingie" is the fill plug - use the lowest bolt on the PTO cover to drain... I'm sorta surprised that 4 quarts only filled your differential well below the plug tho', I can't quite get 4 quarts into mine even when parked with the front of the truck well downhill...
Re:where is my drain plug???
The correct amount is 9.5 pints. As so many have said to put 8 pints in the 17mm fill hole is almost impossible no matter what angle the truck is, simply take out the highest bolt on the PTO cover, insert a 1/4 plastic tube and pump in the rest.

Steve
