Question What is this part mounted to rear axle?

There is a part mounted on the rear axle of my truck that looks like a limit switch. Does anyone know what it does? thanks.

I searched and googled but found nothing. maybe my terminology is wrong

Is it sticking out of the top center?
Vehicle speed sensor for ABS and speedometer operation.

no. it is mounted to the frame on one end and the diff on the other. looks like it could be for leveling or overload warning.

That's the brake bias control. More load, faster response by the rear brakes. The rod on mine fell off so I replaced it with a universal adjustable one.

I lengtened the rod on mine and the rear brakes catch better now when no load in box.

Probably same idea. Think my universal was for an air brake. Bunch of adjustable positions for the 2 piece rod. Adjust length until you get favorable braking action.

You may wind up with premature lockup of the rear wheels when you don't want it.
