what looks like metal particles on dipstick

I sit normal for there to be a little bit of metal particles in our oil. truck runs and sounds fine. Actually getting better fuel mileage now thatn ever. 141000 miles. Maybe it is now getting broke in and some particles have coming loose from when it was built. I mean isnt that what the oil filter is for. I use the napa gold.

Send a oil sample into someone QUICK, my experience is if you find metal particles in the oil (especially if big enough to see) the motor is about to give up the ghost. If it was mine I'd likely tear it down before I got the results back from the lab

After closer inspection it looks like they are little tiny air bubbles on the dipstick.

Most if not all small metal particles will end up on the drainplug anyway, not on dipstick.

I cant say I analyze my oil regularly, but I do have it analyzed from time to time... probably averages out to once every 4 or 5 oil changes.

Rich.

So the drainplug is magnetic? I wasnt sure because there was no metal on it when i changed it. I think i am paranoid. But I did order the kit from blackstone.
