tranny life

A lot depends on the type of driving example city vs hwy + towing vs empty and as has been said the guy driving it. My 99 dually has 217k on it with the original clutch still in it and is still good for more. I tow a fifth wheel camper and a boat and drive as little city as possible.

Thats about all i used mine for and it gave no signs of going. It just all of a sudden went. My original clutch lasted till about 240,000miles. Then i put the injectors in. The 250,000 mark is about the average that ive heard of around here of the NV4500 lasting.

When you say all of a sudden it went WHAT HAPPENED???
Did it just grenade in the middle of the freeway and throw pieces everywhere??
Did you do any oil changes or at least check that it was full in that 250k run??
I would suspect unless something literally blew you would have gotten some indication of trouble brewing.

175000 plus and still going strong. Running synthetic oil and two trans coolers bolted on where the PTO covers go.
