Life expectancy for stock injection pump
I have 129,000 miles on 1994 with the stock injection pump and I am thinking about droping a #10 plate, a 3k governer kit, and AFC springs. Buying all the parts and having someone install is no problem but I don't want to drop a bunch of cash and have the pump go out.
Also, if I do the mods and the pump goes out, is it possible to salvage the modified parts from the pump and have them installed in a rebuilt one? I can see how it would be possible if I was going to do it, but since I don't have the mechanical back ground, someone else would be doing it.

I don't think you'll have any problems with the pump going out. It is mechanical and is far more reliable than the VP44 equipped trucks (a.k.a. 24 valves).
