I finally gave up when my muffler broke off, I ended up going to a local shop that said it all depended on how much money I wanted to spend, so I went with a straight thru muffler and new pipe $165.00 installed. Don't have the drone in the cab anymore, but at the pipe still a little louder than OEM.

Gotta a commercial truck muffler from the local auto parts store for $60. It is 10" in diameter, 52" long, and is 4" in 4" out. Told them I wanted one for a Freightliner FL 70 or a Ford 650. Put it in and the truck is no louder than stock. My wife can't hear me pull in the driveway anymore.

Let us know if your EGT will increase, I am considering same way too.
My main concern is an increase of temps when towing.

When I had the auto it hung around 1050 while towing and 650 around town. With the manual and the stacks its around 500 in town but I have not towed with it yet to know but it shouldn't be highter than the auto.

thanx for ur help guys. have to wait till i have some money together. buddys right if i cant shoot it i cant eat it. its cheaper to shoot them then it is to buy em.
