I Just did a Tranny rebuild at 376000 miles, And now have 1000 miles on it, I am getting ready to post some pix on that, it was amazing how good all the bearings looked at that mileage, Only reason I did the rebuild was Pilot Bearing was non existent,

I like the factory fluid, Just my 2 cents....

Correct, do NOT use atf like cheap-*** Chrysler says. I know one local guy that wrecked his trans with that.
GM also used the NV4500 and they still have their gear available oil for it. the original # was 12346190 and the new # is 19369226.

So it is four years later and the new GM # is discontinued... What are you going to use now?

Best I can find is Red Line MT-85 75W85W GL-4 and is what I will be using when I change my transmission oil out... though I may wait a few more decades before I do it.

I have been use Pennzoil Syncromesh in the yellow bottle in a couple of NV-4500 for the last several years, since my stash of the left over oil from Dodge ran out.

I swapped out the stock fluid early on in my 01. After doing some research, I went with the Amsoil MTG 75-90. This oil met the factory spec at about 1/3 the cost of the factory oil. Having had great success with amsoil products over many years, it definitely made the decision easier.
With over 250,000 km running the MTG in the NV4500, I can report that there have been no problems at all arising from the use of this oil. No excessive wear, no noise, no oddities.
This truck has always been loaded down, either with tools, or towing heavy. Not beaten, but not babied either. Amsoil lubes in all drivetrain components, Rotella in the engine

Just my experience...
