Question what is the difference

What is the difference betweeen Isb and Isx? How do you know if you have a high output diesel or not? I have a 2002 dodge SLT. The side of the Injector Pump says 245hp at like 3700RPM. Is there a way to set the high idle?

ISB is the engine in our Dodges.

ISX is a bigger engine, heavy duty trucks and such

With your 2002, the only way to have a HO is with a 6 speed manual.
If you have a 5spd manual or automatic transmission, you have no HO.

High idle can be turned on by your Dodge Dealer, or borrow a friends Smarty, load the smarty program, then back to stock,
the stock program in the Smarty has the high idle turned on.
We 2nd genners only get the automatic high idle, when it's darn cold outside,
not the one controlled by the cruise control.

ok I was just wondering because i am going to buy some isb and cummins badges. my truck is a 6 speed manual. Would that have been standard or did someone special order that? i was wondering about the idle because in the last month i started my truck and after about 1 minute it slowly revs up to about 1200 rpm and stays there.didnt know if that was normal or not. I live in wisconsin, sosholuld i invest in a winter grille cover?

There's a lot of people that have had to get the high idle programed in. It sounds like you've already got it. As far as the grill cover goes, if the coolant temp is staying at the normal operating temp you really don't need it.

Just did some checking and 245hp is the HO, also referred to as the ETH.

ETC being the non HO, 235hp.

That is the High Idle.
I'd get a grill cover, lets you have heat quicker.
I just have some plastic inserts that used to be made by a member here.
