What company sells the best quality stock VP44?

MWFI or Pensacola or Diesel Care?

Do all of these companys sell the most current updated VP44?

Do all the companys rebuild the pumps or buy them from an outside source?

Do they all use New alloy housings?

priced a new pump just to see how much, a little less than $1500.

A rebuild kit cost less than $ 50.00

Testing equipment around $ 100000.00

All pump shops rebuild to the Bosch specs. Not doing so can cost them the rights to rebuild the pumps at all.

With that in mind most suggest getting the cheapest pump from an authorised rebuilder. I would make that as well.

MWFI seems to get a lot of votes for good price and quality from what I've read here. No experience, just an observation after being here and reading a lot.

Well after racing a duramax on to the freeway last night I realized how slow my dodge is so today I ordered a VP44 from mwfi, hopefully I'll get it by friday and have it installed on sunday. What other parts should I order for the install? I think i read some where about getting a Cam sensor, any gaskets or special tools (pullers) I need for the install?

Too bad you went through the dealer for the cam sensor, Cummins sells them for around $40. I recently replaced my cam sensor, you'll be thankful you're replacing it while you have the pump off.

For future reference where would some one buy genuine Cummins parts and not aftermarket stuff? I looked on www.cummins.com but I didn't get any where.

Go to any Cummins service center and give them your ESN (engine serial number). Located on the side of the timing case in front of the injection pump. They sell almost everything engine related at about half of what the dealer charges.

I don't know what part of the country you're in, but you can use their locater to find a shop near you.
