water pump hole

There is a small hole on the side of the water pump. I'm thinking there is not supposed to be coolant coming out of it. If I have to change it, are there any major differences compared to a gas engine? Things to look out for? Or is it just pop and swap? This is my first diesel.
Thanks.

It's a piece of cake. No sealant needed. It seals w/ an O-ring. 2 bolts. Do a quick search on the board to make sure you get the right one. Somebody got the wrong one that looked like a gasser pump.
