Water Pump died at 63,000???

So I think my fan clutch is going out, matter of fact I am pretty positive. I was going to wait until monday to change it but last night on my way home I hear this belt sqeal while my ac is on for a couple of minutes, then boom my check gauges light comes on, my volt gauge goes to zero and my temp is 250. I pull over and look under the hood and much to my surprise, the belt has jumped off which would explain the volt gauge dropping, and there is coolant coming what looks like the underside of the waterpump pulley. Any idea what would have caused the belt to jump and the coolant to leak out? Anyways a $180 later it is sitting at the dealership...AGAIN..in line to be fixed. Anyone else experience this many problems before 100,000 miles?

A water pump seizing / dying will drop fluid like a siv and can sometimes cause the belt to jump off the pulleys. Make the belt get's replaced, too.

not the belt, just the water pump. I just can't believe that the water pump went out this early. Once the water pump is fixed, how can I tell if the fan clutch is bad as well?

if you can move the blades side to side and if there is play in there that should be a sign that it is goin out. also if you can spin it and it spins really easy, there should be tension on it when you spin it. one more thing when you move the blades side to side make sure it's not the blades moving but the fan clutch itself
