Question warranty by dodge or cummins?

I have a motor knock in my '01 CTD dodge 3500 and the local dealer doesn't seem to know if it's punched or bored! At 85000mi. I'm told the truck is out of warranty but the CTD motor is still in. Can I now go to cummins shop for warrantee repairs? I assume I have a covered defect.[see forum on motor knock or flex plate] Thanks.

It is my understanding that Dodge warranties the Cummins engine for 100,000 miles. You will have to go through Dodge for any warranty work on it.

Thanks, I feared that might be the case. Does dodge list dealers and or a service rating of thier dealers on the internet? I need to search out a good one if I must go to dodge! STY

The engines are sold to Dodge "as is" with Dodge providing the warranty coverage to 100,000 miles.
Dodge retains the option of cutting a purchase order to allow a vehicle to be sent to Cummins for work.

It's 7 years or 100,000 miles....Try a different dealer and talk to Cummins...You should be able to get this worked out...
Look in your owner's manual...I've found all kinds of stuff regarding the engine warranty....
Good Luck!
