This thought crossed my mind earlier and i was wondering if those of you who have had the dealer replace your VP44 recently, if they automatically put in the new in-tank LP or if they give you a choice to have it reto-fitted. I was just wondering because of all the bad talk about the low pressures the in-tank setup has compared to the stock LP. I have good pressure on my LP and the vp is holding up but if it ever goes out under warranty I don't want that in-tank setup.

It depends on availability of the lift pumps at your dealer. I just had mine done and they used the blocked mounted lift pump - lousy pressure out of the box but that's another story. Some have posted that the only option now is the intank pump but that was not the case for me.

 

From what I hear when the dealers run out of the standard LP they will all switch over to the in tank pump.

When my VP was replaced under warrenty the LP was an option, so I dont think you automatically get it in the package. If your pump ever goes out I would replace the LP at the same time just to make sure. Afterall, its just a little amount when compared to the value of the injection pump.

 

dad's vp went out. when we went to get it it had the pump in the tank as well (they just did it didn't ask) now he has 8 psi at idle and 0 at wot. they told him volume is the name of the game as long as you have 1/2 psi your good
