Could someone help me ID this pump. The Dodge P/N is R5013925AA. I am hoping that this is one of the newer more reliable pumps. I had Dodge put it on under warranty in Nov 2003. So far 17000 miles on this pump and still OK. Truck is 1998.5 automatic.

If it's a warranty replacement, then it's most likely a re-man.

Nothing wrong with that as Bosch has provided upgrades that corrected weaknesses in the initial offering.

I would think you have a stronger/more reliable pump than stock.

I concur.

Had mine replaced under warranty, and they said it was a Bosch reman.

The "R" designation at the beginning of the pn is for "Reman". What color is the pump by the way? (black or silver).

Is there a difference from the black to the silver?

tool,

Just to mess with that theory, my 98.5 has an original VP @ 100 K miles and it's silver.

tool,

She's new to me (mine since '01) but dear old Dad made the original purchase so I know the history on it. Also checked the dealer records, no VP 44 service issues.

Interesting!!........
