Question Oil loss

My truck just recently turned 100,000. I just noticed for the first time that I've used about 1 quart of oil since the last oil change. I've used AMSOIL from the beginning. There is no evidence of any oil leaks, no trace of oil in the antifreeze or oil residue in the engine compartment.

Any suggestions or ideas?????

Also, does anyone know of a good diesel shop in the central Virginia area??

Thanks in advance.

Personally I would wait until it's used a quart or more in-between at least couple oil changes before getting concerned. There are many one time or seasonal factors that could have caused the loss that you may never figure out.

I am just over that mark myself and have an oil leak. It was hard to see at first because of where it is, but I found it. Mine is the o-ring between the power stearing pump and the oil pump (I think that is the other pump). Just a small enough leak to show it time. Not sure if this is your problem, just a sugestion.

I don't think that the fix is that hard either. You can get a seal kit for around $20 I think. Just be careful about taking it to a dealer. Many dealer say that your pump is bad and replace the pump and charge a couple of hundred dollars. If you do a search there have been posts about the seal size and a parts number for the seal kits.
