VP on it's way from MWFI. Plan to do it this coming weekend. Aside from a new fuel filter, is there anything else I should plan to either WANT to replace or NEED to make this job complete?

 

While you got the pump out, might as well change the cam position sensor. You'll never find a better time to replace it. It's just below the pump opening on the timing cover.

Cummins part # for the Crank position sensor is 4921597 I believe. I got mine from hoeslidiesel myself as I was not pressed for time.

I got my cam position sensor from the dealer. I think it was around $50. BTW, the cam position sensor and crank position sensor are the same part# on my truck. Just ask the snot nosed kid working the parts counter what you are looking for and they'll look it up for you. Or better yet, call ahead.
