VP44 advice needed
VP44 advice needed
2 years ago, the fuel station forgot to put the cap on their tank in the middle of winter, and I was one of 2 that got 20 gallons of water in the tank, which froze, and ruined the injection pump, among other things. A dodge dealer replaced it, and they have since gone out of business. This was only 30,000 miles ago. I since have put in a tank of my own, run clean fuel, treated with Stanadyne. I now have the 0216 code on the 1998, and have had the dead pedal a few times now. I am not happy, but I need advice on the best option for the longest lasting pumps out there. I only have the VA and 275 injectors, so that should not have hurt it. I have done some reading on the HRVP44, but don't know all the advantages/disadvantages of it, and what places sell pumps that have the best electronics in them? I don't want to replace this again in 30000 miles. Thank you
Sucks, the dealer installs are only warrantied for 12 months/12K miles.
All places that sell pumps are going to have the latest/greatest rebuilds (as long as they have fresh stock & sell some pumps).
If you do a search you'll see where people have been getting them lately.

Ya all of the big companys are up to date with them. Industrial Injection, Sheids Piers Blue chip Pwd. Do a search or call one of them and have a chat with them. They will take care of you. Ya it will cost a few buck but they will last as long as you treat them right. And dont have the little black cloud over your head.
Thanks guys. I forgot to mention, fp has been min of 10 psi, and max of 15 since the IP was new, so that shouldn't have caused it either. So regardless of whether I get the HR pump or not, any new rebuild should have the best electronics? And are there any other advantages to the HR, besides the extra HP?

Thanks guys, I guess I still haven't decided yet. I would like to do business with my local Bosch dealer, and if I get the regular pump, that is what I will do, but the extra power from the HR pump sounds nice, just not sure it is worth the extra $600.

Thanks for all the help guys. I just called II, and they said to stay away from the HR pump for my towing and PTO application because of the lope. I will buy a regular one from the local dealer that I like. Thanks again
