Vp44?????
Took my truck to the mechanic that put the turbo, injecters, clutch, and air dog on yesterday, he called me today and he dont think its the vp44 he said he drove around all day, ran it hard and it didnt act up at all, so he thinks either it got some air in the line or, the comp is acting up. He said he talked to edge and they said they were having problems with a few of there boxes, ive had my box know for about 8 months so i really dont know if it is the box or what, hes going to keep the truck for a couple days and see if it does it again.
I have had this issue with some trucks i installed FASS systems on right after a WOT run. They go and go then just all of the sudden, shut off. Have to bleed the lines and boom...fires back up. You might have cavitated the fuel from the pick-up tube in the tank and lost prime. (but i dont think that the Air Dog goes any higher than 90ish GPH...i could be wrong though....) I dont think this is a VP44 issue. I would ride it out and see what happens. All VP44 issues i have delt with, they will worsen with time! I promise that! The type of issue you are dealing with though.....wont always pop the P0216 code though......just ride it out......might as well get as much as you can out of the freaking
ALSO!!!! DO NOT POUR COLD WATER ON A HOT INJECTION PUMP (Unless you have writen it off already)! You can cause the metal to shink and cause things to contact that dont need to be contacting if you catch my drift! John Deere has outlines on this when washing tractors........and yes...some of them use the VP44!
