Vp44?????

Well i got my truck back yesterday from the shop. I had the clutch, injecters, and air dog put on my truck. So today I thought I would take a buddy of mine for a spin, took off with the edge on 5by5 1,2,3,4,5 when i got to around 90 or so the truck just died, pulled over in a driveway and tried to start it and nothing i figured vp44 just went south. So we towed it back to my buddies, we then cracked the 1st and 4th injection line, both were getting fuel, but still would not fire. So i called another buddy and told him to grab his goosneck and come get me. In about an hour he showed up, got in the truck turned the key cranked once and fired up, know im stumped. Also the FP gauge aint workin at the moment.

Sounds to me like the IP is going bad, Won't start when it's hot, let it cool down and it takes right off. When they are going bad and get hot they do stupid things. Try pouring cold water over it when it's hot and won't start, it will probably take right off.

Any other reasons it could just die like this, we cracked the injecter lines as soon as it died and they were getting fuel, but it still wouldnt start, im 50/50 here between vp44 or electrical because of a few things.

If it was the vp44 i would think it would just die, not just flat out die then decide to come alive again, that and its getting fuel to the injecters. But if it was electric i think it would flash some sort of code, or something, but then again who knows. I think im just getting frustrated thinking about it.

If it won't start when it's warmed up but will cold, it's a bet that it's the electronics on the Injector Pump.

Yes, have it scanned at Autozone....the key on/off doesnt always show all the codes

The Autozone that I went to didn't use the DRB, but an off the shelf code reader.
It can't get ALL the codes.
You need a dealer-style DRB for that.
