Awesome set of videos!!! I joined this forum to get info on my IP and this is just what I needed. I have to change the pump soon and was wondering if I should tackle it on my own. I'm not afraid to work on anything, and now I will attempt to do this as well. I just wish diesels were as simple as Harley's.

I wish I would have found these vid's a couple of weeks ago when I replaced my IP.

After watching the vid's it looks like I did everything correct but I have a weird issue. After the replace, the truck is harder to start (sounds like it takes one round to kick over) and it sounds like my VP44 has a turbo on it. It really whines when I get on it (kind of in synch with the turbo). I've had a couple of people in the cab with me and they all confirm the noise is on the drivers side. Anyone ever heard of this or have any ideas?

I bet you have a boost leak....did you tighten up your boost boots? They will hum pretty loud if left loose....

You may be on to something since I can only produce the noise when generating boost (I need to get a boost gauge), but the noise is louder than a hum. It's more like a scream compared to the whistle of the turbo.

The only boot that I touched was the one attached to the air horn. I did tighten that one up good, but I'll double check. I'll also check the lower boot going to the intercooler since I was moving the pipe around a bit while doing the replace.
