valve troubles on 01

Guys help , ive been having a little bit of excessive valve noise when the engines under light load. The reason i was concerned being the truck was owned by a service manager at a DC dealer and the warranty work record says "Valves" but no other info available. The dodge place wont even talk to me about the truck

Being it's an 01 you may be in the twilight of the warranty period on the engine depending on what amount of the "power pack" is installed.

Are you sure it's valve noise? I don't know what all is included in your Banks Power Pack, but a timing box such as my Edge EZ will make for a much noisier engine at idle and light loads due to the timing advance. On my truck, driving along at a steady 30 MPH will produce some loud, random "combustion rattle" that disappears with additional throttle.

So why not just adjust the valves yourself? That way you know exactly what they are set at.

Well, its true the banks ottomind is a light timing box basicly a whimpy version of the edge ez i guess. The reason for concern is the noise had gotten worse slightly but no real cause for concern. I was planning on doing the valves my self. Really i was just thinking it was kinda weird that the dodge place wont even tell me what was done to the truck, heck they wont even talk to me! lol i guess its got somthing to do with the truck having 13 sets of mopar warranty replacment brake pads all authorized by the previous owner of the truck.... along with the other 60 warranty claims....

I used my dealer in town to pull the warranty work record. It has accross the top (Warning This Vehicle Has 3 Self Approved Claims) Anyone know what that means?

And if you are concerned about the valvetrain, they are easy to adjust. I did it to my truck (see my gallery for good pictures of the process), and it was easy. I had a ticking noise in my engine, best heard at 1800 RPM while cruising. Whats your mileage at?
