Vac/PS pump removal
Vac/PS pump removal
Ok. All done. Including fluid change, hoses and wires, took me 3 hours.
Not bad.
Not saying the way I did mine is the best way, but it worked really well for me.
CALL DODGE AND GET 2 HEATER GRID GASKETS. You may not need them, I didn't, but it will suck if you don't have them on hand.
Remove the air intake from the intake manifold. Loosen the clamps on the hose that connects the air intake to the intercooler tube.
Also remove the tube from the intercooler. All of this will give you all the room you need.
Also turn your wheels full left to get the pitman arm out of the way.
Instead of taking the hoses lose from the PS pump, I did this. I removed the two hoses that go to the hydroboost. Just follow them up from the pump and you'll see them.
I then just took one hose off of the gear box. I then pulled all of the hoses up straight after getting them free of wires and stuff, and put a couple of zip ties around them to keep them from flopping all over the place.
Not sure how your oil line will be. I had to use a backup wrench on mine.
The fixinrams video mentioned a different type of fitting.
There are only 3 bolts to pull to get the entire assembly off. Two holding the vac pump to the motor, and one on a bracket coming off of the ps pump.
The hardest part is lifting this heavy sum gun out of there.
Replace your damaged stuff and re-assemble.
Not bad.
