Unknown Take Off Problem

I have a 2000 dodge Automatic 2500 diesel. I had the transmission rebuilt twice. I know have a new problem only sometimes it will not take the motor and RPM builds up it hesitates then after a moment it finally will take off. It happen when it cold or hot also really bad when pulling a trailer and only sometimes. I would like to also know if anyone know a good mechanic in Austin Texas area that can help.

Thanks
Bobby

Sounds exactly like what my 99 ram gasser used to do. I had a built trans in it with a loose converter and the truck had what I would call a lag in the throttle. If you stepped on the gas, the truck would pause about 2-4 seconds then it would go.
Never figured it out, but sounds like a converter problem....

Please don't just jump to the dead pedal 0216 cel vp-44 problem.. There are other things that can cause problems. I am so sick of everyone diagnosing every problem with, "check for codes" "the vp44 is dead" blah blah blah.... think outside the box people please....

My tranny resonds very similar. For instance. Tonight heading home from work, driving down the road and i know the stop light is about to turn yellow. So i step on it, tranny slips till it revs up to 2200 (or so) catches and takes off like a bullet. But if i gradully step on the smoke pedal it never slips. I don't think theres any major problem. I just have crappy tranny. Lookin forward to GB
