Uh oh...is my VP going out?

Yesterday morning I started my truck up and had the check engine light on. When driving, the revs would only go up to 1400-1500 and the turbo wouldn't build any boost. I got on the highway and after about 10 miles of driving, the truck went back to normal.

When I got back into town, I made a quick stop and the truck started acting up again when I started it back up.

Basically, the pedal will take the revs up to 1400-1500 and then it doesn't matter how hard you push the pedal; the turbo won't boost and truck accelerates very slowly. Is this "dead pedal"?

Since I have a 99, I can't do the key cycle to check codes (or so I have read). Anything I can personally check since it might be a day or 2 until I can check codes? Thanks

I would check and make sure all electrical connections are still good and tight and then check it for codes..

the way im reading into this it sounds as if it is doing it on acceleration from a stop. if this is the case then it sounds like your transmission is slipping.

if you are driving for a while and it does it while cruising, then the problem is your pump.

it sounds like the same problem i was having. i would take off from a stop and only get to 20 mph, then all of a sudden the truck would lunge and then drive normal. the problem was, my trans fluid was draining back to the pan, and the clutches were slipping in the trans.

I can now breathe a HUGE sigh of relief!!

Got the code pulled a few mins ago:

P0237
Turbo/Super Boost
Sensor A
Circuit Low Input

That explains why my truck wouldn't build any boost when accelerating
