Two new VP44

Two new VP44
I’ve installed 2 remanufactured VP44’s on my 2002 2500 in the last 8 months, both with 0216 code. One with dead pedal and now one with hard to start. Truck has a FASS-150 with 18 psi at idle and 16 psi at WOT. Fuel filters are good, TPS is good. So If you haven’t figured it out yet, I’m lost as to what the problem is, thoughts anyone. Thanks for any help

For the hard start, make sure the fuel pressure while cranking is less than 10 PSI. More than 10 will cause hard starts. May also want to see if you can bring the lift pump pressure down a bit, these VP44 do not like too much pressure.
You may also want to pull and clean both the IAT (Intake Air Temperature) and MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) sensors. Those two sensors have a big role in controlling the VP44. Also, cycle your key three times and see if any codes come up in the odometer display. Turn the key ON - OFF - ON - OFF - ON, leave it in the on position and watch the odometer display. If there are any codes in the ECM or PCM, they will show up there.
