fuel injectors

for those of you who have done fuel injectors is it worth getting the higher end injectors vs the stock injectors. keep in mind i have no aftermarket mods and do not plan to get any in the near future. i ask this because i pulled the injectors today and they where super fouled with a lot of carbon build up and with no way to test the injectors myself to see if they are fine after a clean up. so i have decided to replace them. i also have no idea how old these injectors are. i have had the truck for 7 years. if these higher hp injectors hurt fuel mileage i am out as well.

Doesn't take long for new injectors to look used with carbon on the tips.

Get them tested at an injector shop to see spray pattern and pop pressure. If you are not specifically looking for more power I wouldn't say any brand would out perform good stock injectors.

You'd want a certified Bosch shop to test them...

I have a set of Bosch RV275's waiting to go in. Some say mileage will improve due to the fuel getting dispensed faster and burning further, but that is probably at the millisecond/nanosecond level and I don't try to live that fast...

Are you having performance issues? What led you to pull them?

yah it was shuttering and dying after warming up. originally it was going to be a reseal but given their condition and age it seemed prudent to replace. problem solved with new injectors. the new injectors did cause a warm engine hard start but after 2 injector cleans and a vacuum pump rebuild that seems to have been fixed. not sure how the vacuum pump could have effected it but...
