turbo inlet hose clamps
Anybody know where I might get a set of the clamps that hold the turbo inlet hose to the air filter? I stripped one of them yesterday. The dealer (in this case, definitely deserves to be called "s******"
wants $29 for the air filter side, and $33 for the turbo side, and they're only regular clamps, $2 apiece at Lowes, except that these have some special holes cut in them and won't fit without the holes. Can't find them in a junk yard, either. Cummins, maybe? Or NAPA? Anyone have part numbers? Thanks.

Hi ,<br> I had the same problem with a stripped clamp. I first went to cummins and they said their parts on the truck end at the intake, and dodge installs the intercooler and tubes. The guy looked for me anyway and came up with only one that could possibly fit but was still too small, and even though I have a 12-valve, I believe these parts are similar if not the same. I ended up going to Dodge and getting raped at $16 a clamp.<br> >

Here's an update. The holes in the clamps fit around rubber ridges in the turbo inlet hose. The Dodge "d"ealer told me that if I shave the rubber ridges off and go with Lowes clamps, I'll void the vehicle's warranty.
In other words, the rubber ridges are on the hose, and the holes are cut into the clamps, only to make sure that I buy DC's clamps, at DC's insane prices, and on the penalty of forfeiting the warranty.
I understand that substituting a word that begins with "st" for the word "dealer" offends some people and shouldn't be used on this forum. But I've never seen a better example of where the name applies. Forcing people to pay $60 for $4 worth of clamps is not much different from theft.

This void the warranty stuff is so lame.<br>Get your self some 4" ID rubber flex hose and some clamps from Lowes for less then the one clamp DC wants to bend you over for.

Get the cut off wheels and make your own slots. If I didn't already own one, I'm the kinda guy who would go out and buy one just so I wouldnt have to pay the dealer. If the rubber **** are so important in holding the air filter connections together why not have the dealer show you where in there official service manual from his shop the relevance of this as compared to the air to air connections that operate at 20+ psi. I would then ask him to place a call to engineering to support his unsubstantiated claim, and ask for a loner until "they" can solve your problem. Basically the **** are there for quick alignment and actual correct sealing of the hose would depend upon the "mechanics" interest in doing the proper job. Forget these idiots and get a $2.00 hose clamp and carry on, if their system was that perfect like they think they are we would not need the "Warranty". PK

I always get a kick outta the fellas recommending that others "demand" this, or "insist" on that from a dealer or "make them prove" something - shucks, they'll do exactly what YOU would - laugh in yer face and tell ya to take a hike - they don't HAVE to "prove" anything if they don't wanna - and "insisting" or "demanding" sure won't get ya anywhere but a quick pass to the open door...<br><br>If you can't get what you want by courtesy and respectful request, you are even LESS likely to get it with bullying and bluster - PERIOD! They're either good, cooperative dealers, or they're not - and threats or demands will get you nowhere!

Could be - but ya see, YOU probably don't fit into the UNcooperative service managers I was talking about:
"They're either good, cooperative dealers, or they're not - and threats or demands will get you nowhere!"
See my point? Fellas like YOU don't NEED to be threatened or bullied for decent service - you give it automatically - the bad ones wouldn't give ya decent service if ya held a gun to their head - and threats are a waste of time!
