Turbo Extremely Loud Now
Hey guys quick question. It's not that I mind the noise, but for some reason today, my turbo got a LOT louder and I haven't done anything to the truck lately. Everything seems to run fine. I haven't pulled the filter or anything to see what might be wrong, but I found it kind of odd that it would just start getting loud like that for no reason. Anyone else ever experience this? Thanks.

Checked the hose and it seems to be in tact, and tight on both ends. This is really weird. Boost isn't a problem by any means. I wonder what the deal is. Maybe I'm hearing things, but it sure does seem a lot louder since this morning. I usually can tell the difference.

I started hearing the exaust drone noise here recently. I thought it was the turbo for a while, Like you said it just started all at once, Is it a high pitch whistle. it could be the exaust.

Did you just get a haircut and uncover your ears? ;D

Maybe since the weather is getting warmer you are hearing that fan kick in more now as well. Just another guess here.

Jack, One of the Scotty 2 I drilled the hole for had an AFE filter start to come aprt at the seams and it was like a turbo noise. Check the filter out before too long....

Jack -

I too noticed the turbo getting louder, and determined it to be the A/C lever in the defrost/floorboard setting. For some reason, it opens a vent that sounds like it is right near the hole in firewall for the scotty II. It only gets louder when in that position. Just a thought.

I'll have to play around with that a little bit. Thanks for the tip.
