Turbo code?

Can any one shed some light on this? I just did the key trick on my truck and got 0216 and 0234.

I know 0216 is vp44 death, and 0234 is turbo over-boost.

So my question, what is turbo over-boost, what causes it and how do I fix it?

This truck does appear to have had a box on it from the PO. Is it possible that the PO may have had an EZ on it and forgot to remove the boost elbow?

Well came up empty handed on the turbo, is there any way to identify if it has an aftermarket boost elbow?

How can I check if the waste gate its self is stuck?

On a positive note, I followed a hunch I had about the fuel filter needing replaced and causing the dead pedal and 0216 code. Sure enough that filter was black as coal.

So tomorrow I am going to replace it, hopefully that will solve the problem and I wont have to trade an arm and leg for a vp44.

Sounds like the previous owner adjusted the wastegate a little. Turbo overboost occurs when the wastegate malfunctions or has been adjusted to open with higher pressure.

That has got to be the wastegate then. I looked though the installation instructions for a 98.5-2002 EZ and it said the turbo from a 2001 with auto trans has a solid line, instead of the replaceable elbow.

How would I go about installing a boost gauge?

Edit: ok, I need to use the search feature more. I found how to install a boost gauge, will probly get one and a boost bolt from the store when I have funds availible.

Well, the rain let up so i got the fuel filter and replaced it. It is a little better, but I still am having the issues on take off.

When I take off it will accelerate real slowly, if I tap the brake then step on the go pedal it will be normal then accelerate slow again.

This evening after I replaced the filter it did the same thing. However when I got a couple miles down the road, I went to do a couple of launches, pedal on the floor it would do 10 mph.

If anybody has any ideas let me know, as this is starting to tick me off.
