Truck Just Died
New to the forum and my 2002 Dodge 3/4 4X4 is parked in front of my house. Need some advice and a little help. Was driving down the st and the truck just died, I have plenty of electrical although I am cleaning the terminals. I am thinking fuel pressure but have no idea what it really is and I do not know where to start. This is the first time the truck has given me any issues execpt the darn dash cracks. Only has 75,000 miles on it but I do let it sit alot. Any suggestions? Plus, can anyone recommend a good diesel mechanic or Diesel shop in San Diego California in case I have to tow it to someplace.
By the way BRO are the initials for the Big Red One. If you got to be one might as well be a Big Red One; for you Vets out there.

Cycle the key 3 times real fast and see what codes come up. If a P0216 comes up, the VP44 injection pump is out. Lift pump might have died or there are other electrical issues. But check for codes first. BTW is it a completely stock truck?

It has a Banks exhast system on it. Other than that, yes it is stock. I will try the key thing tomorrow and see what code pops up. I will go for the code first and then see if I can find a fuel pressur gauge. Really appriciate the help. I'll let you know what comes up when I try it tomorrow. Thanks BRO

I did the same thing in my 2002. Just died. My sending unit was out in the tank. Mine was showing over 1/4 of a tank but was bone dry! Added Diesel, primed and away I went!
