Question Transmission trouble? maybe?

I think I might have a problem, but I'm not 100% sure.

I've got a 2004 with some pretty basic mods (see sig). Recently I think I'm noticing some harder shifting, and what feels like a bit more drag than usual when I come off the throttle at highway speed. It's almost imperceptable, and right when I've convinced myself that it's in my imagination I'll feel it again.

Also, when shifting into 3rd while accelerating the RPM's seem to ramp up for a second before settling into gear.

I don't know much about transmissions, are these symptoms obvious indications of some sort of problem? Do I need an entirely new transmission? I've got just over 100,000km on the truck right now (~63,000 miles).

Any advice would be appreciated.

you need to get the line pressure ratings off the tranny... because it could be a serious of different problems.. you could have a bad planter gear....worn clutchs and steeles in the drum or valve body problem... preassure ratings on the tranny to find out a lot of useful info

How do I get the line pressure info? I assume I'll need some specialized equipment?

You will need a 300 PSI guage and a 100psi for a stock truck. The pressures in reverse can get up to nearly 290PSI

If you look under the truck on the side of the transmission there are some pipe plugs, you "plug" in to those. Get a service manual, it tells you where to test for what and how to do it.
