transmission problems

transmission problems

i have a 2000 dodge it has 250 thousand miles on it i have always changed all the fluid before it is due this morning i went out to leave for work let it worm up and left and the only way it will shift out of first gear is to let of the throttle i am getting ready to change the tranny filter in it tomorrow is there anything else i need to change or look for when i do this thanks for ant help

throttle valve cable may be out of adjustment. Also, it may be the governor pressure sensor. Search both for explanation. There is plenty of info on the forum.

Front band is 72 in-lb back off 2 turns..
Rear band is 72 in-lb back off 3 turns...

Make sure you are using an IN-LB torque wrench and not a FT-lb torque wrench..

The front band locknut is 30 FT-lb and the rear is 25 FT-lbs

none of this has helped a buddy told me it could be the tps has anyone heard of that causing the problem

can anyone give me a part number or tell me where i can get the governor pressure sensor at none of the part stores can find one around here thanks
