I've developed a leak between my trans and transfer case. Is there a gasket there or just some sealant of some kind? If it's sealant what kind do recommend using? Thanks in advance. Oh, it's a NV4500 and DHD241.

There is a seal for the output shaft of the tranny and a seal on the input shaft of the transfercase. One or both must be leaking.

Be careful, there is a new superseeded seal for the x-case input, it is a double lip seal type, they might be hard to find. I have been getting mine from Quad 4X4 (in I think Oregon.) Some of the units I have had apart have only had the single lip seal. Use the double lip-you probably will NOT find this one at auto zone, etc.
