The OEM Castrol Syntorq LT in the NV4500 is a 75W-85 GL4 gear lube. The Penzoil Synchromesh used in the NV5600 is a slightly "lighter" viscosity, and may not work as well.
GM dealerships have been known to charge less than the 5 star ones for the OEM stuff.
Redline has an MT-90 gear lube that many use, and Amsoil now has a similar lubricant available, MTG, both synthetic.
The GL4 rating is specific to manual transmissions for proper operation of the synchros.

I run the Amsoil MTG, because I wanted the best quality synthetic for high temp protection, low temp fluidity, and long life. Do not use the Synchromesh fluid! It is the wrong fluid for your application! You can go dealer fluid if you like, but I would strongly suggest a high quality synthetic like Amsoil, Red Line, or Royal Purple.
