Transmission Mystery.

Hey Everyone, I have been having this problem with my truck since I bought it in January, I have cleaned all the grounds like I read before, but no luck the problem still persist. The problem is when I am driving slow and my trans goes to shift from first to second it bucks and acts like it is hunting for second or maybe goes in and out of second, but as soon as you give it a little more throttle it shift fine and shifts perfect when accelerating up to road speed and shifts even better when pulling a load. Someone told me it maybe a solenoid in the transmission, I have no clue I have never done any tranny work. But if I was a guessing man I would same maybe it is an electrical problem due to it shifting fine otherwise.....Any help is appreciated thanks.. Babyjoe..

I had a problem like this once and the govener solenoid was no good. Try checking that and see what you find.

It is located in the trans pan at the valve body. Not exactly sure if you check for a certain voltage or ohms but if you have a repair manual it will give you step by step. You may even be able to check it without removing the pan but you will have to look at the manual.

Mine does the same thing. I even adjusted the throttle pressure and does it but not as bad. I've learned to live with it.

mine is doing the same thing but i can be running 35 - 65 mph my rpm will jump 200 to 400rpm like its slipping but it doesn't do it all the time but some days are worse than others. if i ride the brake it will still do it. but if i accelerate it will stop slipping of jumping. do you think it might be the same deal?

The trans pressure sensor and transducer run about $150.
They are on the VB , you just need to drop the pan to get to them.
The throttle pressure is sometimes called the kick down cable.
It is a cable that goes to the TPS or APPS on these trucks.

No the throttle pressure is adjusted no the side on the VB on the trans.
Look at the attached PDF page 13. That shows where the throttle pressure adjustment screw is.
Valve body pdf
The kick down cable is totally different.

You are refering to the MINIMUM throttle pressure adjustment.
It should have no effect if the throttle is moved off of idle.
It does effect the light, no throttle up shift.
The cable should move as soon as the throttle moves.
