Transfer Troubles

I pulled the drain plug on my NP 241DHD transfer today and I had needle bearings come out. Does anyone have any experience with this transfer and can tell me where these belong and if it I can rebuild it? I looks to me that most of the shaft support bearings offered in rebuild kits are ball bearings not needle bearings.

Do you hear noise? Transfer case run low? The only needles that come to mind are on the rear of the front output drive. The front bearing is a roller.

The truck is fairly new to me. I was changing the fluid for the first time today. I pulled the fill plug prior to pulling the drain and it was near the top. I do not hear anything, the shift lever feels smooth and it shifts fine as well.

From: North Carolina or Kentucky. Take your pick
Well you can bet they were not put in there extra. The needle brgs are on main input shaft and may have caged needles on output. Transfrer case repairs are not difficult other than weight getting out. Once accomplished they are straight forward coming apart and simple. Even a "caveman" could do it. Well maybe not a caveman, but you get the ideal. Generally 4 wd or HD truck transmission shops will do for couple hundred bucks plus parts.

I took the T-case out today and tore it apart. The needle bearing came apart on the front output shaft. It looks like it took the shaft out and a link on the chain. Everything else made it. I got a rebuild kit, front output shaft, and a new oil pump coming. Hopefully I will only be without my truck for a week. The transfer's build tag says 06. This makes me wonder why my truck is eating transfers.

So I was told that I can't get a front output shaft from the guy I got my rebuild kit from. I am coming up empty on the net. Does anyone have one they want to sell or know someone that has one for sale? I will need a chain also. Thanks
