Transfer case help!!!!!!

I have a weird problem with my truck, see if you can figure it out. When going down the road in 4th or 5th gear and I`m not on the throttle at all(coasting) the transfer case jumps into neutral all by itself. It grinds like crazy and I can free rev it just a little bit and then it pops back into 2wd with a loud bang. I can actually see the 4wd lever moving forward into N. It does this every time I coast now and I need to figure out where to look. It does not do it when I`m under power, just when I`m crusing along and not on the throttle. I`m sure its going to brake more parts if I keep driving it so I`d like to tear into it today. Is my transfer case junk? 4wd still works, fluid level is ok.

Have you checked the trans mounts. Could have a broken mount and when not under torque, letting trans move causing the linkage to move.

Yes I checked the trans mount and it is fine. Now what? Has anybody ever had this happen before?
