trans temp
trans temp
Changed the fluid in my trans last week and refilled with ATF+4 synthetic fluid. Have only driven truck a little since. Used truck today to pull hay baler home. After about 8 miles got stopped at red light, put trans in neutral while at light and just before light change noticed temp was at 150 deg. Trans had never made 140 deg gage move in the past. Drove truck 3-4 miles and temp was back down, drove 20 miles and let truck idle for 4-5 min while I unhooked baler, temp was up to 160. Drove truck about 2-3 miles and temp was back down. As I said I have pulled my TT and it has never made the gage move. Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advance

Found problem, it was the same varmit that causes lots of problems. BAD GROUND. Drove truck this morning for 12-15 miles and let it idle for 10 min and all is well.
thanks anyhow

As i was asking questions to some mechanics I trust they also stated that since I had changed the trans fluid to be sure the fluid level was correct. I was told too much fluid will make the temp rise. Just a little more info and hope it helps.
