Tranny question (MT)
Do a search, this issue has been covered many times. On a 2nd gen you will need different flywheel, frame crossmember, and different length driveline(s).
It would be best if you find a wrecked 3rd gen and buy everything including transfer case if you have a 4x4

Both of my 98's have the crossmember needed for the nv5600, your 01 should as well. Depending on what model of 5600 you get, you might have to change out your clutch disc for one with a 1-3/8" input. 99-00 trannies had the 1-1/4" input shaft, 01+ have the larger one.
Well.....here I go,,,,, step n on toes...Personally I would not wast a cent on the NV As they from experience ...... crap. With out a redo upon redo. Then an other band aid and patch and main shaft and on and on
The very design is flawed. period
Spend more $$ once and be done. Get a G56
